Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane's goals ensured Liverpool's two Premier League victories in the two Premier League games that beat Burnley at crowded Anfield.

In Liverpool’s all-around performance, captain Jordan Henderson returned to the starting lineup after missing the first win over Norwich. Junior Harvey Elliott also gave him in his first Premier League start. People left a deep impression.

Jota opened the scoring in the 18th minute, breaking through Nick Pope from a cross from Konstantinos Tsimikas, scoring his second goal in multiple games.

After 8 minutes, Mohamed Salah scored the ball into the net, but because the Egyptian was offside in the assembly, the video assistant referee ruled it out.

After Liverpool’s 68 unbeaten home runs last season, Sean Dyche’s team looked for a back-to-back league victory at Anfield for the first time since 1897.

But Burnley's brave defense was finally defeated again, as Jurgen Klopp's team doubled the lead with a wonderful Mane strike in the second half.

Liverpool wins in emotional Anfield return

The mood was high before the game as Liverpool was preparing to be full at Anfield for the first time since March 11, 2020.

Fully 528 days after the club welcomed a large audience for the last time, in their UEFA Champions League match with Atletico Madrid, the fans excitedly sang "You Will Never Walk Alone" and then made a touching tribute before kick-off.

When Anfield paid tribute to Andrew Devine, the 97th victim of the Hillsborough massacre, there was a minute of applause from the audience.

Fans of the Kop Stadium held up a mosaic of the number 97, and Henderson laid a wreath in front of the famous stands to commemorate the 55-year-old man who suffered life-changing injuries in the disaster of 1989 for 32 years He died in July.

When the game started, Burnley had a real chance for the first time. Dwight McNeill hit the goal post in four minutes, but Jotta's header in the first half made the returning Liverpool supporters ecstatic.

The Portuguese nipped between the Clarets' centre back pairing of Ben Mee and James Tarkowski to nod past Pope for his first league goal at Anfield since November 2020.

Burnley thought they equalised soon after half-time, but Ashley Barnes' effort was ruled out for offside.

Both managers were frustrated with decisions from referee Mike Dean, with 18 fouls conceded throughout the match and no yellow cards issued.

Liverpool took time to settle in the second half, but quickly found the rhythm, finishing 17 shots after the intermission, 7 of which hit the target.

It was a wonderful game, started by Virgil van Dijk, finished by Mane, and locked three points.

Van Dijk's long pass found Elliott, who knocked the ball down before finding Trent Alexander-Arnold. The right back passed the ball into the penalty area for the first time, allowing Mane to open his new season record while scoring the 50th goal for the Reds in the new season.
